As we speak you may be in bed, you may not. The point is, this business is so international and mobile now I figured it was time to do a spot of travelling and so here I am in New Zealand. It's business as usual bar the time difference which hasn't hampered 5 jobs so far in the 2 weeks I've been here including the first poster for our debut night at Quenched Music 'No Right to Be Here,' (featuring the typography of the brilliant Charles Williams) and a trailer for new E4 Hollyoaks spin-off, Freshers. Trailer coming soon, poster up now.
Preparation for the New Zealand move is in order but it wouldn't be right to go without a volley of work aimed at my peace pillars now would it? Check out the most enjoyable job I've had for a while for the Square Mile Club in London. 2nd in on the portfolio section.
As of August 1st 2010 I shall be heading down south to New Zealand. It feels like the next step to further my career and just life in general to see some of this crazy world and get inspired. however aside from taking a week off from 1st August to the 7th August it will be business as usual, just remember the time difference and email me where possible!!! New contacts are on this site.
It's been too long but I've finally managed to update my portfolio. With the launch of Quenched Music and lots of new work the portfolio now features work for Next, Mix Mag,'Don't Send Postcards;' the world's first E-book film release, Beyond the Tipping Point? Movie, The Big Issue London and branding for Quenched Music and Leicester band, the Carnival Clowns.

New work up online!! I've taken my time but you know how it goes, Balls out, 1000mph and all that. So take a peek at the first illustration from my monthly Design Week slot, new set of 4 CD Sleeve designs including Leicester's own 'The Carnival Clowns' and 3 of my latest illustrations for Dara O'Briain's Guardian Weekend column. Coming in the next couple of weeks- MAG International poster design and the 12.5 meter long banner for Next's new Bond Street Flagship store. Phew, right back on it.

Any votes for the VOICE project proposal would be greatly appreciated- a very relevant project, thank you! BenTallon Any votes for my proposal for Umbro Industries would be much appreciated! Thank You http://www.umbroindustries.com/ideas/view/Ben-Tallon
The VOICE project is a series of four images based on people and problems that need a voice but have no means of speaking out or find negative ways of voicing their beliefs. As a creative professional walking the planet at such a crucial time, I believe we have a very important role to play with the ability to speak to millions of people with one image, if not a responsibility to do so.
New treats up online including the new poster from the 'Two Man Tent Show' branding job. Also a new spread for the Times and a few interview/feature pieces including the Leeds United interview.
I'd like to wish everyone a very happy new year for 2010 and say thank you for the people who showed me continued support throughout 2009 enabling me to drive myself up the wall with this love/hate job. Hopefully I won't be knocking on Adecco's door any time soon this year!
Check out the interview I recently did with Leeds, Leeds, Leeds magazine now up on the Dirtsheet: http://bentallon.blogspot.com/?zx=62cf5033fe710dfe
I'm delighted to find out I've won The Flair Illustrator of the month award. My branding job for Youth Discovery Ventures clinched it which makes it sweeter having done the job voluntarily for a crucial cause for all of us.
I have just completed and uploaded my latest personal project, 'Tiny Minds.' The project was triggered by a series of incidents in which I came across very small minded people who failed to see past people's race, colour, social standing and into the more significant qualities which a human has. The Tiny Minds is a series of visual profiles of a mix of people I have met and famous people. Creating a portrait and dropping in positive traits/ characteristics, only to be drowned out by a fact that is insignificant yet latched onto by the small minded people I speak of. It's a shame to think that in a time when our race has come so far, there are still people who cannot see other humans for the fellow soul that they are.
I have finally found the time, albeit a Saturday night to create my blog, check it out at http://bentallon.blogspot.com/

As part of my recent push to use my skills for greater good I have re-branded the very exciting new project 'Youth Discovery Ventures.' I urge the rest of you talented people to turn your attentions to more meaningful work where possible in these important times. Check out tomorrows Guardian sport for the Dara Obraian column illo too. http://www.youthdiscoveryventures.co.uk/ to see what they're all about

My 'Versus Series' is featured in the Output section of this month's Computer Arts Magazine if you get the chance to take a look. A nice little run out for my personal work. Out now in all good news stores...
I have just completed my piece for London's upcoming 'Decked exhibition.' It's a response to our government's appalling attempts at dealing with the rise in violent crime among youths in Britain. The issue is obviously down to lazy parents failing to raise kids properly. Obvious to me coming from a working class background. Come and have a look, the exhibition is on from 25th-30th August, Stolenspace Gallery, Brick Lane, London.
If you're not already aware of the fantastic profiling/networking site Behance, get over there now and have a look. My own profile can be viewed at http://www.behance.net/BenTallon
Amazing trip to Europe- Istanbul is off the chain. I'm back and ready to go so come and abuse me people, my pen is twitching ready to make inky love with your organization.
I will be away stomping around the plains of Milan, Istanbul, Sofia and Burgas from Monday 13th July to Tuesday 21st Juy. I'm good to go again from the Tuesday afternoon. Until then. Rice and Peas Ben
Check out Channel 4's 'Big Art Mob.' I am exhibiting on Brick Lane's Stolenspace gallery in London from 25th-30th August and here's a little preview: http://www.bigartmob.com/thedeckedproject/ Also for my personal blog http://www.bigartmob.com/BenTallon/
Check out my re-working of Chuck Palahniuk's Fight Club book jacket. The front images were created via a series of face prints which means I still have paint in my ear. The back reflects a Scene in the novel where Jack meets Tyler Durden on a nudist beach. Tyler is pulling driftwood from the sea and creating a semi circle of logs which at 4.30pm for one minute will create a perfect shadow of a hand. I almost died in the process but I recreated the scene down the docklands in Preston in the wet sand. Very satisfying.
If your soles are hanging off then get yourself over to the Kings of Neon website where you can now purchase limited edition Ben Tallon footwear designs. Get stuck in. http://kingsofneon.com/acatalog/ben_tallon_plimsolls.html

As a huge fan of professional wrestling I have been putting together a set of four illustrations of some of the greats in the industry. Two out of four are now up on this site. Current WWE Champion Randy Orton and the late great former WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero. Enjoy.
Take a sneak peak at my response to the stomach turning expose currently teeming out of every news broadcast regarding our governments abuse of taxpayers money on 'expenses.' And to think that businesses like my own live in fear and worry about putting a pair of Primark Undercrackers through tax return...
Check out tomorrows Guardian (23/5/09) Russell Brand's column has allowed a premature relapse back into the 'Versus' series. Terminator v Sizemology Ducklings v Incredible Hulk Tevez. Enjoy!
Despite being confined to the studio indefinitely due to the never ending wave of work I have managed to find time to re work the first outing of Eminem's 'Slim Shady' persona, 'The Slim Shady EP' (1997) to coincide with the release of his 5th studio album 'Relapse.'
My latest personal project is up online. The 'Versus Series round one' features old favourite Obama v Clinton along with Wrestlemania 25 special Orton v HHH. Illustration Deathmatch Danny Allison v Ben Tallon soon to be featured in a design trends book is available and last but not least, King of Manchester brawl, Ian Brown v Ricky Hatton. Round 2 on the way soon, kicking off with Tyson v Thatcher in an Inferno Match.
Welcome to the brand new site of Ben Tallon. It's been just over a year of working as a freelance illustrator/designer and I couldn't have imagined that things would go so well. So a big thank you to those that have shown faith in me and an apology to those whose inboxes were invaded with alarming frequency last summer... We all have to start somewhere!
